In the newspaper today

was an article on The Tannery which is where we're hoping to be come March

Tannery Article on their blog

I think it's well worth a read if you didn't see it in this morning's Press.

I should do a "how to" post, but my computer is playing up and I'm having difficulties uploading photos'.    Not sure when I'll get it fixed, waiting to hear from the retailer I bought it from as it's out of warranty.

Destash Sale

was yesterday.   I went in early and helped a wee bit with setting up the food for the tea and coffee before starting on a little knitting.    At 10am those waiting patiently outside were let in and the bargain hunting began.   There were patchworking stalls, embroidery stalls, a stall mostly full of craft books and of course our guild stall.   I was only there till 11.45am but we did have a reasonable number of sales; hopefully not too much had to go back into storage.
It was a lovely day and I did take a few photo's but as they're not of guild members and I don't have permission to put the faces of the shoppers online I'm not going to post them.   A few of our members did purchase from our stall (including me).   All in all I think it was a good day and the feeling was positive.

A Reminder

Tomorrow is the Declutter Sale at the Sydenham Community Centre on Hutcheson St (off Colombo) from 10am till 3pm; see you there!  There is no spinning venue aside from this, if the weather is good bring your wheels and a chair as there is space outside for spinning.

On a hot day

We had a guild session at Opawa St Marks and it was good.

There was a carload of goodies donated to the guild, some of this will be sold at the Destash Sale next Saturday, some was sold today to our members.   I might have gone home with a bump of lovely fibre.
some from the carload, some from our members.
Next Saturday from 10am till 3pm at the Sydenham Community Centre on Hutcheson St (off Colombo) will be the De-Clutter sale.  The idea of the sale is to fundraise for the Fibre and Textile Network which will in turn be promoting the guild.  We are supplying tea and coffee and baking and there will be tables for the individual guilds as well as one for the network.   The network's table raises funds for them (they have some lovely cards for sale), the guild tables raise funds for the guild running that table.   Come along and support us, if the weather is good there will be spinning outside, bring your wheel and a chair.   Parking is probably best on the old Sydenham School site across Brougham St.
Hopefully it's not quite as hot as today, 31 is a little too hot for me!

Today was a good day despite the heat though, lots of lovely items on the display table
Knitting, spinning, dyeing and all beautiful
There was much spinning going on at the guild as well, I didn't take photo's of any while there, but here's what I was working on.   I promise to take more photo's week after next
