Saturday 24 January 2015

Another warm day today, but I think we all got a fair bit done, there was certainly a lot of talking which was lovely.   The table was well covered today too.

Pam spun the yarn and then knit the shawl, it's for her mother and is beautiful

Pam also knit this lovely cardigan using hand dyed yarn from Red Riding Hood Yarns

This is the back
Pam has also been playing with her Stylus on her wheel and made this fluffy skein of angora goat fluff in the woollen style.

Kim's been having fun with her wheel too, I'm not sure of the fibres of the top two, but the bottom one is Merino.

This is a Katniss Cowl that Kim knit for a niece using her handspun; it's not oriented correctly, the bit on the right is the neck.  It looks really good when worn.

Meg's been making mittens to donate to schools.

My son George wove this in his holiday with very little help from me (Rachelle); very proud!

Rachelle's Romney, the fibre was dyed by Chilco.

And more of Rachelle's neverending grey perendale.

Kerry dyed this polwarth using lichen, I love the gentle colour that resulted.

Paula finished this lovely crescent shaped shawl, several people would have liked to take it home, but unfortunately for them Paula still wanted it.   The yarn is handspun Ashford Merino/Silk

Paula's also been spinning, this is 15 micron huacaya alpaca; the boy who provided the fibre has won awards.

Paula has also been trying out double kntiting, and this is the gorgeous result.   I think one of these for winter would keep you lovely and warm.

And finally, Carol has been knitting children's socks, any child would love these to death.

Saturday 10 January 2015

Sorry it's late, I got distracted by painting windowsills at home.

On the photo's I have some close up shots as I'm trying out my new macro lens.

Sue made this alpaca felted scarf some time ago, you just want to stroke it.

Anna's been spinning up her lovely merino and silk again

Pauline was clearing out some of her older stash and turning it into yarn.  This is romney and has a lovely sheen

Margaret is back into the crochet after a bit of a break; some lucky wee person will get to wear this

Sandra knit this shawl, she had less than a metre of yarn left and I think the pattern is perfect for the yarn.

Joanne's busy spinning laceweight merino for a specific project, this is the second colour

and this is the first colour, the third is a deep ink blue.

Fran is a very busy knitter, this is not blocked yet, but is a laceweight scarf.

and a lovely BFL shawl in grey also from Fran

Sonya is back and she's not wasted her time in Prague.   This is a merino possum hat

Some mittens and a hat for Sonya's wee boys

Sonya hasn't just been knitting warm practical items, there's this lovely silk and beaded scarf.

Sonya's haul from Germany, Wollmeise is lovely yarn and so hard to get over here.

Sonya's also been playing with colour on this shawl, very effective

This looks like a  Lizzie cardigan to me, it's a pattern I want to knit and it looks lovely in this colour!

Fran finished this rainbow shawl, the yarn is by Happy Go Knitty and it is beautiful in this pattern.

And finally a cross stitch Christmas Stocking that Sonya's been working on for the last year; gorgeous!

Saturday 03 January 2015

Welcome to 2015 everyone!  Hope you all had a good break and are coming into the new year feeling refreshed.   Going by the display table today certainly a few of us had fun.

This will be a quick post, my lack of memory for names was having a good go today so it's just the photo's.
