Saturday 19 March 2016

Another lovely day, I think we're getting an Indian summer this year; very hot!  Despite that we've been a very prolific group this week.

Valerie has been spinning merino dyed by Anna in a colourway that makes me think of parakeets.

Joanne's been spinning as well, this is the Marigold colourway from Fibre2go and it reminds me of organic egg yolks; it glows!

Meg has been knitting using different lots of handspun yarns
Diane has been busy knitting this lovely hat

and the scarf to go with it.  I believe she said it was a commercial yarn.

Rachelle has been busy spinning bulkier yarns.  All were dyed by Kate of Heavenly Wools, the left ones are both the Barrier Reef colourway on different bases, the right is Slate on dark grey.

She's also finished the socks she had one done from last week, this is a slip stitch pattern

and a pair of plain socks for her son

and finally a shawl using Touch Yarns Merino and beads

Pam finished spinning her red laceweight merino/merino-silk yarn

Rosemary has been using up various stash bits to make these 7 hats; that's a lot of knitting!

she also made these cute wee slippers

Kerry has been spinning singles, I think this is meant for a weaving project

she's also turned some of her Bedford Cord weaving into a cushion cover, I think it looks great!

and she's been making wee pin cushions

Paula has been spinning silk noil, this skein may be small, but it's pretty much perfect.

and Jan F brought her cowl along, it's from handspun in the pukeko and charcoal colours from Heavenly Wools.
