Saturday January 7th 2017

First post for the new year!  I hope everyone had a good start to the year, unfortunately we lost one of our members to cancer.  Heather Patterson will be missed by us all and we had a minutes silence yesterday to remember her.

We had a number of members bring in items they'd made over the break

Rachelle's Ashford Merino/Silk and beaded boucle using polwarth, mohair and sewing thread with beads.

Rachelle's colourwork socks, 2.5 years in the making

Mary Catherine has been busy spinning, the one in front I think was silk

Jan's been knitting dishcloths

and Janet's been making this wee blanket

Sarah has been knitting edgings for pillowcases, I hope she brings the finished items in.

Sandra made this lovely shawl, the rainbow colours are gorgeous!

Iris has been spinning, we have Christmas yarn, handspun dyed with lupins, dyed with yarrow and iron, the first white is angora with ice, then we have corespun polwarth and more angora (a named bunny)

Iris has also been knitting with her bunny fluff, this pair of wristers will keep someone nice and warm

and finally this is knit using her daughter's handspun, funnily enough it gets worn a lot!
